Caribbean Blue make-up tutorial

In this Caribbean Blue make-up tutorial, I used shades of blue and tan to create an eye-catching look inspired by the crystal clear blue waters and light sands of the Caribbean.

As always, I started off with cleansed, lightly moisturised skin and waited a few minutes after applying the moisturiser before applying a small amount of NYX Shine Killer Primer again, waiting a few minutes for this to settle before applying foundation and setting powder (optional).

On my eyelids, I applied e.l.f. Shadow Lock Primer and waited a minute or two for it to dry before applying a nude, flesh coloured eyeshadow from my lash line to eyebrow, as a base for the coloured shadows. I used the Coastal Scents 88 Colour Original palette which doesn’t have any colour names printed on them so I’m unable to tell you exactly which shades I used.

Next, I applied a bright light blue onto the entire eyelid area and blended it well into the crease. Using a dark blue, I applied this to the outer corner of my eyelid in a “C” shape, from the crease, around the outer corner of the eyelid and up onto the upper lash line, blending it well into the crease so that there’s no harsh line where the colour ends, just a gradual fade.

Selecting a bright, mid-blue, I used this to blend the colour between the dark blue and light blue on my eyelid and then I applied a small amount of a tan, sandy colour to the inner corner of my eye and blended it well.

Using an angled brush, I applied blue eyeshadow along my lower lash line, starting with dark blue at the outer corner, mid-blue in the middle and light blue towards the inner corner to create a gradient effect.

Using an angled brush and a gel eyeliner (or a liquid eyeliner), line the upper lash line. I used Bobbi Brown’s Long-wear Gel Eyeliner in “Black Ink”. Line the waterline (the area above the lashes on the lower lid) with black pencil eyeliner. If you have small eyes and want to make them appear bigger, use white eyeliner on the waterline instead of black.

Finally, I applied a few coats of mascara and filled in my brows.
