“Summer Days” make-up tutorial

This coral and turquoise “Summer Days” make-up tutorial was inspired by a clothing colour combo that I saw in a picture on Pinterest.

As usual, start with cleansed, lightly moisturised skin. I like to wait a few minutes for the moisturiser to sink in before applying a small amount of NYX Shine Killer Primer. I have oily skin and find that NYX Shine Killer Primer helps to keep the shine under control for a few extra hours, as well as helping to disguise my large pores. Wait a few minutes before applying your chosen foundation or BB Cream and setting powder (this is a must for oily skins but optional for those who prefer a “dewy” look).

I applied e.l.f. Shadow Lock Primer to my eyelids and waited a minute or two for it to dry before applying a nude, flesh coloured eyeshadow from lashline to brow, as a base for the rest of the coloured eyeshadows. I’m using Coastal Scents 88 Colour Original palette which doesn’t have any colour names printed on them, so I can’t give you the names of exact colours used.

I applied a coral colour to the lid and blended it well into the crease, making sure that there is no definite line where the colour ends, just a gradual fade. I tight-lined my upper lid with black pencil eyeliner. You can use pencil, gel or liquid eyeliner, I just find it easier to tight-line with a pencil. Try to keep the line thin, the aim of tight-lining is to get the eyeliner between your lashes and to line your upper waterline. This will make your eyelashes appear full and thick.

Using a blue pencil or gel pencil eyeliner, apply the eyeliner on the upper lid, right above the lash line and wing it out slightly. I used Michellori retractable eyeliner in sea blue (no. 222). Using the same blue eyeliner, line the lower waterline (the area above the lashes on your lower lid).

Finally, apply a few coats of your favourite mascara to your lashes and fill in your brows.
