Mermaid Tail / Fish Scale Square

Difficulty level: Intermediate
Stitches used: Knit, purl, yarn over.

Finished square approximately 20 cm x 20 cm (7.8 inches x 7.8 inches).
The finished square can be used as a pot holder or turned into a cushion cover.

Pattern includes instructions on how to turn square into an Afghan or blanket, using two different methods (for a Waffle look, or a smooth pattern).

Materials needed for square:
* 35g 8ply/DK/Light Worsted Weight (3) yarn
* 4 mm knitting needles (US size 6, UK size 8)
* two stitch markers (optional)
* yarn needle

Any weight yarn can be used (with the manufacturers
recommended needle size), but it will change the size of the square.
