Heart Blanket Square with Border

Difficulty level: Beginner
Stitches used: cast on, knit, purl, cast off.

This heart square with a border can knitted and used as a pot holder or wash cloth, or knit continuously (or make multiple squares) to make a pretty blanket.

To make a baby blanket, you’ll need to make 48 squares. Blanket will measure approximately 76cm x 104cm (30”x40”).

Finished square approximately 20 cm x 20 cm (7.8 inches x 7.8 inches).
The finished square can be used as a pot holder or made bigger and turned into a cushion cover.

Materials needed for square:
* 35g 4ply/DK/Light Worsted yarn
* 4 mm knitting needles (US size 6, UK size 8)
* two stitch markers (optional)
* yarn needle

Any weight yarn can be used (with the manufacturers recommended needle size), but it will change the size of the square.
