Peyote stitch is an off-loom bead weaving technique, and can be done in flat stitch or tubular stitch. Tubular peyote is used to make pouches, bracelets, necklaces, or to decorate objects such as bottles or fan handles.

Peyote stitch can be found dating back to Ancient Egypt.  The Egyptians created broad collars with the stitch, these collars are depicted on gods, kings, and others. Not only has the stitch been found in Ancient Egypt, but Native Americans have also been using it for centuries.  Modern Native American beadwork uses peyote stitch in jewellery and traditional objects.

Custom orders are welcome.  If you see something you like, but would prefer it in a different colour, just send a message via our contact form and we’ll get back to you and let you know if it’s possible.
