I received an Evolu Travel Tower in “The Complete Natural Skin Care” box from the Best Beauty Box Ever.
Evolu Travel Tower contains six Evolu Botanical Skincare essentials, which are suitable for all skin types, in an ingenious twist-together stack of pottles, perfectly sized to fit your handbag, carryall or briefcase. Each pottle contains enough product to last business trip or short holiday break, and they are refillable and endlessly reusable. An additional lid is included so the stack can be divided if you wish, and the stack contains samples of the following products:
Relaxing Creme Cleanser: The white creme cleanser has a very gentle non-foaming formula, that has a definite scent of geranium. It also contains calendula which helps to soothe skin and stimulate skin repair, apricot extract to soften and hydrate, and St John’s Wort for its calming effect on inflamed skin and blemishes. This creme cleanser is suitable for all skin types, although it specifically states that it’s good for those with sensitive skin, problem dryness, or mature skin types. I was really impressed with this creme cleanser. Not only did it effectively remove all traces of make-up (including really stubborn eyeliner), it also left my naturally oily skin feeling really clean and soft, while still providing a deep clean without managing to completely strip my skin. I’d definitely purchase more of this.
Renewing Facial Exfoliator: The facial exfoliator has the same geranium scent as the Creme Cleanser, and is also a white cream consistency with rather large jojoba bio-beads that act as exfoliating granules, while papaya extract helps to brighten the skin. These all-natural buffing beads gently exfoliate without scratching the skin, to remove dry or flaky skin.
The scrub also contains a hydrating blend of manuka, lavender and geranium, which give it its signature scent, and the scrub does cleanse well with out drying out my skin. I’m not a fan of the large beads and prefer a finer scrub or exfoliator, so I won’t be purchasing any more of this product.
Soothing Eye Gel: This transparent Soothing Eye Gel relieves, cools, calms and refreshes the eye area, while reducing puffiness. It contains Aloe Vera, Eyebright extract, arnica and Mamaku fern extract, is fragrance-free, although it does have a slight fresh, clean Aloe Vera smell, and is perfect for hypersensitive or stressed skin. I found that this non-irritant gel formula was readily absorbed by my skin, and it has a non-oily, non-sticky feel, which makes it really pleasant to use, especially at the end of a long day when my eyes are feeling tired. It’s a wonderful eye gel and I’d definitely consider purchasing a full sized tube.
Balancing Day Cream:This lightweight Balancing Day Cream nourishes and hydrates to help balance the skin’s natural moisture levels, while being non-greasy with no oily after feel, and is perfect to use under make-up. It is perfect for combination skin types, although it worked well on my oily skin, too, and it has a very delicate fruity scent thanks to the addition of Kiwifruit, Blackcurrant and Meadowfoam.
Balancing Overnight Cream: This Balancing Overnight Cream helps to regulate, condition and replenish skin by intensively moisturizing to help maintain elasticity and skin radiance. It contains Borage, Irish Moss and Spirulina extracts to help regulate skin tone and promote a healthy, even complexion, as well as lavender, mandarin oil and shea butter. It is lightweight and non-greasy, although I did find this night cream to be far too rich for my oily skin type, probably because of the shea butter, and it makes me perspire around my nose and chin for a good half hour after application, even in cool weather, which I know is a sign that this moisturiser isn’t right for my skin type.
Nourishing Hand Cream: Evolu Nourishing Hand Cream instantly softens and nourishes dry skin to help reduce signs of excess dryness, both on the hands and around the cuticle area. This delicately fragranced white cream is readily absorbed with absolutely no greasiness, and leaves an almost powdery feel on the skin, which is wonderful. It contains Harakeke, Carrot Seed, Kiwifruit, Avocado Oil, and pure Vitamin E, all ingredients that help to soften skin and reduce dryness, and it feels wonderful when massaged over the nails and into the cuticle area, as it eliminates the need for a separate specific cuticle nourishing product, if used on a daily basis. I’d definitely buy a full sized tube of this lovely hand cream.
The tube shaped travel tower stands 10.5cm tall by 3cm wide, and has six alternating white, sky blue and lime green sample pots that all twist securely together, with a lime green lid. The thing I like best about this travel tower is that it can be refilled, labelled and reused with any products you like after you’ve used up the Evolu products inside, and it will fit easily into a toiletry bag or make-up bag without taking up too much space.
The little sample pots each hold 10mls of product, and if you purchase the travel tower directly from Evolu’s website, you receive the additional lid. This extra lid would have been handy to have, but I didn’t receive one when I got my Travel Tower in the box from Best Beauty Box Ever.
