Dedicated to Nature Maintain Face Mask is little pot of bliss! Their website states that this natural and organic mask deeply nourishes and hydrates your skin while drawing out impurities, while the fresh infusion of natural clays, skin friendly oils and botanical & herbal extracts (of aloe, kiwi, camellia, apricot, jojoba, strawberry and calendula) hydrate, nourish and soothe the skin, leaving it feeling fresh and renewed.
When I initially opened the 50g screw top tub, I was surprised to see a mud mask that looked exactly like a decadent chocolate mousse! A thick, creamy, rich chocolate brown paste that looked good enough to eat. The smell is an unusual blend of kiwi fruit and lavender which is hard to describe but is not unpleasant in any way.
I dug my fingers into the pot and scooped out a generous amount. I’d already cleansed and exfoliated my face, my bubble bath was warm and inviting, so I spread the mud mask over my face and neck (avoiding my eyes and lips), climbed into the bath and a lay back. What bliss!
The clay mask did tingle a little at first but it was nothing bad and settled down after a few minutes. I guessed it was just the mask settling into my freshly cleansed and exfoliated pores. After relaxing for 15 minutes with the mask on, I ran a little more warm water so that I could use the clean water straight out the tap to rinse off the mask. Wow! My skin felt smooth, hydrated and nourished, yet oh-so-clean.
I do love a good clay mask and this one is fabulous. Although, if I had to improve one thing about this product it would be the packaging, the screw-top lid is a little difficult to get back onto the tub at times, especially when my hands were wet or some of the mask had dried around the rim of the lid. (The mask can also be applied with a flat foundation brush instead of your fingers.)
Would I purchase this product again in future? To be honest, I’m not really sure. It’s a good clay mask and does deliver on its promises but it can be a little on the expensive side considering the number of uses you get out of the little pot and I don’t like the tub packaging. Would I recommend it? Yes. Definitely try it to see if it’s what you’re looking for in a clay mask.
